Based in Chatsworth,CA,Currie Technology is America’s oldest provider of quality Light Electric Vehicles. Since the early 1990s Currie engineers have developed a variety of battery and drive systems;their E3 models now offer state of the art power,  convenience,  and flexibility.

Currie’s Metro models offer traditional or step-through styling. And it’s 7 gears, combined with the powerful 500 watt motor,  “melts”  hills-  our coastal bluffs disappear and San Clemente suddenly seems flat.

Metro is the perfect “equalizer”  for couples who want to ride together. It motivates people who “haven’t ridden a bicycle in years,”  providing as much- or as little- exercise as they want in the process.

Choose “Twist and Go”  or Pedal Assist

In Europe all electric bikes are pedal-assist only. That means there’s no help from the motor unless you’re pedaling. But in the US you get a throttle that delivers full power with just a twist of your wrist. This means even sedentary riders can get back on a bike, enjoy the outdoors and exercise their way to better health without overdoing it.

Pedaling Increases the Range

With a minimum 20 mile range (with no pedaling on your part) you can use the Metro for  ’round town errands and leave your car in the garage. But the more you pedal the farther your Metro will go between charges. Adapting to the terrain and power options of the Metro most riders prefer the pedal assist mode because it provides the most natural bicycling experience. Using the motor only to ease over the hills can nearly double the Metro’s range.

Practical. Fun.

With it’s built-on cargo racks this bike can carry groceries from the store or a heavy briefcase to work. Park you car, save on gasoline and avoid the parking hassles. Metro is a bicycle and parks anyplace a bike can park–usually closer even than the handicapped stalls!

And because it’s a bicycle it goes right onto bus racks and on board Metrolink and Coaster trains. And with a hitch rack on your car or RV it travels with you on recreational getaways, too.
